A1..
I only have dial-up. Where do I set this up in Thinc-Mail?
Thinc-Mail is only designed to work on a permanent internet
connection so the program cannot automatically execute a connection
using a dial up modem however once a internet link has been
established it can function normally. This means setting up a
shortcut on your desktop for your dial up routine which would
already be there on your system for the internet and executing this
first prior to opening your mail.
A2.
Why are there 'x’s in my email when I receive images?
Most advertisers embed hyperlinks instead of actually embedding the
full image into the email. This allows the email to be much
smaller. If the URL no longer exists or is faulty, this embedded
image will simply show as an ‘x. It will also show as an ‘x’ if no
internet access is available at the time you open the mail eg
working off-line.

A3.
Can
I create sub-folders inside my main folders?
No. Only primary folders can be created off the main menu however
there is no limit on the number of folders that you can created.
Thinc-Mail has been tested to 999 folders successfully without a
problem.

A4.
How do I archive?
The
product is designed to be integrated with Thinc-Store by default,
however, at this time we do not have an automated archiving system.
This will be made available in the next version.
A5.
What’s Error 53?
This normally indicated that the shared directory that you are
currently using is set to ‘read-only’ access. See you Network
Administrator and have him increase privileges on the shared folder.
A6.
Can
I recover deleted files once I have permanently deleted them?
No. If you go into the trash and say you want to delete items from
the trash, you will be prompted to answer ‘Are you sure?’. If you
continue with the delete process this will permanently delete the
items and they will be unable to be recovered. If used in
conjunction with Thinc-Server, a recoverable option is available.
A7.
What is the best way to mail groups?
Groups can be mailed using the bulk mailer icon. This will send a
personalised, single email to each person on the recipient list.
The lists will not be visible to any other email recipients. This
enables you to send bulk mail that has been personalised for each
user. This works better than using BCC which can be blocked by some
ISP’s and CC mailing shows all users in the list. This again is
much better for privacy.

A8.
Can
I mail groups and individual email addresses?
Yes
but using only the normal ‘send mail’ routine. This means that any
primary lists and CC lists will be visible by all recipients. Bulk
mailing only works with groups.

A9.
What is the limit of the bulk-mailer?
By
default, the bulk-mailer is designed to send 1000 email maximum per
group. If your group account exceeds this, then an error will be
displayed. At this time we have no numbering system in the
bulk-mailer group lists. It is to your discretion to keep this
managed.
A10.
Does the bulk-mailer send one email or multiple email when I hit
send?
For
auditing reasons, the bulk-mailer actually sends individual email
however our system is designed to be very fast and will do this in
an extremely short period of time. The only issue can occur if this
is used excessively your ISP can deem this as spamming and may in
turn blacklist your IP address. You can have the blacklist removed
by informing the ISP of your activities so that they understand that
you are conducting legitimate business activities.

A11.
Can
I search for a specific email?
Yes. By selecting the search button on the toolbar you can insert
the relevant criteria and search your entire email list for the
required one.

A12.
Can
I export my mail?
At
this time no auto-export routine has been built into Thinc-Mail
however this product seamlessly integrates into Thinc-Server which
Thinc-Store is apart of.

A13.
Can
I import my Address Books?
Yes. Addresses can be imported in a variety of ways and have the
ability to be added to your groups.

A14.
What is the size limit that I can store in my mail profile?
Technically there is no theoretical limit excepting the limitations
of your hardware however the product will become extremely slow when
you start exceeding 2 gig in size. This would mean you have a large
amount of email to achieve this size.

A15.
Can I add a
digital signature at the end of my email?
Yes. A signature can
be added including images and this will be included on any outgoing
email. Also, the ability to personalise email using the ‘if’,
‘then’, ‘replace’ option can be found in the settings.

A16.
Can
I add an Auto-reply?
Yes. Auto-replies are available and can be set up in the Options
menu.
